Now, Lupe can add yet another project to the category. To date, his 2012 project Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, has passed five-hundred thousand album-equivalent units and earned the rapper his seventh total RIAA certification.
While not quite as revered as its predecessor, Food & Liquor II remains a huge hit and well received chapter in Lu's catalog -- as evidenced by this latest accomplishment. Lupe himself took a moment to celebrate the new plaque on Instagram, saying little but showing great pride in his work all the same.
"Double Gold," he writes, putting the series on display. "#TheMarathonContinues #LFFL12."

"Say anybody, right, Saweetie, anybody right now, woman that's in the business," he said. "If she just meets a guy that's not on her level or something like that, she might be in her mind thinking like, 'Well, maybe he wants me 'cause I'm successful, I'm in the limelight, blah blah blah.' It's hard to trust on both sides of the field."
Angie then continued to stir the pot, pushing Hitmaka why he hasn't tried to shoot his shot with the "Best Friends" hitmaker.
"That would be fire," Hitmaka responded. Both he and Angie couldn't help but laugh. The producer added, "Hey, Saweetie... Me and Saweetie could see eye-to-eye. I like that. That's a good vibe. That's a good one."

With R. Kelly's New York Trial in the spot light, the results continue to be a hot topic of conversation in the Hip Hop Community. Supporters of his mirrored The Boondocks episode with a gathering outside the courthouse to play his music and protest against the sex crimes trial, and the singer's detractors are hoping that the judge throws the book at him. Singer Syleena Johnson, who has worked with Kelly, notably on "Hypnotic" with Fabolous, offered an alternative sentencing that she believes is more in line with what Kelly needs.
"I don't think he needs to be in jail, I think he needs to be in an insane asylum," said Johnson.
"Don't get it twisted, I think he needs to be in a straight jacket," she continued. "I think some of the behavior that has been going down has been erratic and I think that a lot of Black men in jail have been misjudged. Like, a lot of them. I had a friend that went to jail, long time ago, he said his roommate was so damn crazy. He said that went on a lot in jail."
"Because what they do, is they throw Black men in jail. They just throw everybody in jail. If you're crazy...everybody go to jail. But this dude needs real help. He needs to be in an insane asylum. Real talk. Meds, drugs to the point where like, constant therapy."
While there are plenty of people who agree with her, others have argued that Kelly is 'not crazy'. Watch below and decide for yourself.

As we all know, George Floyd's death posthumously sparked a moment of racial reckoning across the world, after he was died last year during an altercation with a Minneapolis police officer last year.
Right after the first unveiling of a George Floyd statue in Brooklyn, it was smeared with black paint and marked with an alleged logo of a white supremacist group.
Now, the same statue, which has been relocated to another borough of NY, is receiving similar mistreatment. This time, it was vandalized just 48 hours after the relocation.
Check out the incident which was captured on video.

]]>Reported by The Detroit Free Press, fans were lined up for blocks ahead of the restaurant's opening, with many even camping out from the early morning hours in anticipation. When the walk-up window slid open, the first guests were treated to a surprise as Eminem was the person making their orders. Mom's Spaghetti has a predictable vegan-friendly menu with very few options, but still, it is a hit. The first 10 people in line were able to meet Em and take photos with him before he treated them to a free meal.
"The opportunity to build a permanent location based on an incredibly meta-reference was one that everyone at Union Joints, as a Metro Detroit restaurant group, took very seriously," Union Joints Restaurant Group co-owner Curt Catallo said in a press release. "We’re proud of the fact that we created a scratch sauce that tastes like it’s straight from the jar, and wok-firing the noodles gives it that leftover pasta snap."

It's no question that Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the league when he's healthy. Unfortunately, he has had his fair share of injuries over the last few years, and it has put a damper on his ability to play at the highest level possible. His injury status ultimately hurt the Lakers in the playoffs last year, and fans are hoping for him to bounce back in 2021 and 2022.
With that in mind, Russell Westbrook stated that his job this season would be to help Davis stay motivated all the way throughout the season. These comments sort of came as a shock, because one would think that Davis doesn't require any sort of extra or exterior motivation. Stephen A. Smith saw these comments and opened up about it on First Take as he expressed some concerns regarding the Lakers big man.
"You won the title, what were you doing in the offseason?" Smith asked. "At moments like this, as critical of LeBron James we can be from time to time, we need to take a step back and pay homage. This is why he's on the Mount Rushmore. To the LeBron's to the Kobes to the MJs or whatever. They're the marquee. They're the headline. And there is an innate and internal responsibility that they feel to answer the call. So it's not just about my ability. It's about making sure I'm in shape."
Smith continued, stating that he doesn't understand why Davis won't embody this mentality, especially when you consider how he plays with a guy like LeBron. Smith firmly believes this is a concerning trend that the Lakers need to keep tabs on.

With COVID-19 robbing music fans of nearly any opportunity to hear live music in 2020, it's always a shame when upcoming lineups get shaken up. Much how Lolla and Rolling Loud returned for 2021, Post Malone's Posty Fest was suppose to return as well. It was not 2 weeks ago that Malone unveiled a star-studded Posty Fest including: Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Uzi Vert, Roddy Ricch, Jack Harlow, $uicideboy$, Polo G, Rod Wave, Tyga, Iann Dior, Koe Wetzel, Turnstile, Tyla Yaweh, Flo Milli, Kaash Paige, Kenny Mason, Peach Tree Rascals, RMR, Gatecreeper, Clever and LoveLeo.
Fans were without a doubt excited and the third iteration of Posty Fest, set to take place at AT&T Field in Arlington, TX over a two-day span between October 30-31, was just on the horizon. However, everything was not running smoothly. Citing "logistical issues impacting the production of the festival," Live Nation has made the decision to cancel Posty Fest 2021 and move it back to 2022.
Fans were of course crushed, but now it is once again something to look forward to.
Were you planning on going to Posty Fest this year? Will you go next year if it actually happens?

]]>Recently while on the Tamron Hall show, Ashanti revealed that she now has control of her masters and will be re-recording her self-titled debut—a 2002 classic that boasts a 3x Platinum certification from the RIAA.
"It's so surreal," the singer said. "I have an amazing legal team... The fact that I'll be able to rerecord my first album and put everything together and..." Then, Hall jumped in. "Wait, that's the big announcement! I was going to build up to that!... She's recording the album now as an independent artist!"
Ashanti goes on to speak about those early days before her career as a New York City youth with big dreams. "I used to live in the basement of my house — I wanted to feel like I had my own apartment," she said. "So I used to be downstairs in my own section, and I would put on the Cartoon Network on mute and I would just write. And it sounds so crazy, but I would be...having cartoons on, playing the beat, and then just writing. It made me feel comfortable. It allowed me to kind of get into my zone."
While at the Murder, Inc studio, Ashanti recalls, "I would be the only female and there would be guys in there rolling dice and doing things that guys do and throwing money on the table and there was a lot of stuff in the air," she recalled. "And I would be in the corner … just writing in my pad."
Watch her appearance on Tamron Hall below.
