2Pac Shakur, or Tupac Shakur is perhaps the most polarizing figure in hip hop history. If you don’t know his name, get out. Do your research and come back, this legend defined a genre and changed society through both his actions and verses. A man whom both united society and divided them; if you’re looking to rep like perhaps THE biggest name to have every played the game, hit up Hip Hop Bling for your hip hop jewelry.

Early life for Tupac was rough- growing up in the Harlem, he was surrounded by Black Liberation Army and Black Panther activists, many of whom helped shape his political ideologies that would find outlet in his verses later on. Attending a Baltimore school for the Arts, Shakur developed his thespian ability, worked on acting a Jazz, that may have later helped him broker a truce between the notorious Bloods and Crips of California.

Spending time selling drugs, 2Pac came to understand the impact narcotics had upon a young generation, and worked fervently within the his circles to set up a code on the streets, that helped keep younger kids away from that life and giving them a chance for more. His political ideologies and some would say life work made its way onto his albums and tracks, such as Changes and 2Pacalypse Now.

Tupac’s style was always that of movement and action, and his hip hop jewelry style represents that as well. Pac’s style is smooth and clean- a set of bling bling diamond stud earrings, a good quality gold hip hop watch, a thin gold chain and a small iced out pendant. These are the physical pieces that the man presented- not items that defined him, but symbols he came to define. If  you’ve got All Eyez on you, make sure you hit up Hip Hop Bling for the style as smooth as Shakur’s flow.

Thing is, Tupac Shakur was a master of flow- Naz, Eminem, The Game, 50 Cent and many, MANY others have all cited 2Pac as their source of inspiration. In fact, he was the major form of inspiration for practically every rapper coming up in the 90’s, and his stalwart stance on music education, growth and political activism has seen him forever immortalized in a variety of statues and public works.

"the slaying [of Tupac Shakur] silenced one of modern music's most eloquent voices—a ghetto poet whose tales of urban alienation captivated young people of all races and backgrounds. The 25-year-old Shakur had helped elevate rap from a crude street fad to a complex art form, setting the stage for the current global hip-hop phenomenon" – Chuck Phillips

May 2Pac forever rest in peace, and may we continue to learn from his actions and words. A true player to define the very game we play. Rip.
