Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, otherwise known to the world as Macklemore has been an undeniable influential creative force within the music and fashion industry. As perhaps one of the most successful independent artists to date beyond Chance the Rapper, Macklemore orbits the rap game instead of being entirely immersed within it- that’s perhaps where he gets much of his charm.

With more than a decade of wok behind him, Macklemore finally made it with his smashing hit “Thrift Shop,” produced with Ryan Lewis was the first track since 1994 to top the Billboard Hot 100 list without the support of a major label. His second single “Can’t Hold Us” also hit the top of the Hot 100- the first time a duo in the chart’s history to have their first two singles reach the #1 spot.

Macklemore’s viral success fundamentally changed the hip hop game as rappers and artists took note: not only that, but The Mack’s eclectic yet simplistic hip hop jewelry and style made him a standout heart-throb among the music industry. Sporting a sleek yet simple iced out jewelry style, Macklemore’s refined sense can be seen in the gold bracelets and simple gold watch he wears about. Make no mistake, the man needs little flash to make his point- Hip Hop Bling’s pure gold 10K hip hop jewelry pendants make a statement just like the Mack’s, without needing to drop the kind of royalties he’s made through his collaborations.

Throughout the Seattle native’s career he’s collaborated with Scientific Shaman, Illmaculate, Buffalo Madonna, Ziggy Stardust, Wanz, Fences, Suntonio Bandanaz, Abyssinian Creole, Evan Roman, Grynch, C-Nik, Notion, Neema, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Grieves, Geologic, Blue Scholars, Debaser, Ray Dalton, Mary Lambert, Hollis, Clinton Sparks, 2 Chainz, D.A., and CunninLynguists, just to name a few.

While Malcklemore has taken a bit of a hiatus, he still sports a dedicated fanbase that follows him to concerts and across social. Keep tuned for more projects and more style from Macklemore, an outsider king who’s made his impact on hip hop.
