Kanye West Clocks In As Cash King Of Hip Hop Over Jay-Z, Diddy And Eminem For 2019
Kanye West has come out on the top of the pack for 2019 when it comes to the Hip Hop artist who's raked in the most cash. For a while Kanye was in a dark place while setting up his Yeezy brand, having gone deep into debt but today he's made more money than any rapper alive through smart branding and creative vision.
Amusingly enough, Kanye has made all this money in the past 12 months without dropping a single album - yet. His much awaited Jesus Is King album is on the way and West is already set to net a much larger profit than any of his compatriots - including his idol Hov.
As noted by Forbes, Kanye raked in roughly $150 million in the past 12 months alone, well ahead of his closest second runner, Jay-Z who clocked in at a cool $81 million. Down the list Drake came up with $75M, Diddy with a cool $70M. Travis Scott of all people rounds out the top 5, having made $58M this year.
Where's Eminem you ask? Coming in at a respectable $50M and 6th on the list, but album sales can only get you so far you know? Got to diversify. Mad props to Kanye for building his empire and capitalizing on it.
